I read the excerpt below and now it has me thinking. Have you ever seen an example where someone purchased a domain name for 10 or 20k then marketed it heavily and sold it for 200k or more?

Is this possible?

Excerpt from an email
"Everyone should have Amy Schrier's problem.

For six months, she resisted selling the domain name Blue com
for $200,000. Using a formula she devised to fetch the
highest market value for domain names, Schrier eventually
convinced a private party that Blue.com was worth $500,000.

"The market will really explode when people realize they
are sitting on premium real estate," says Schrier, 37, an
entrepreneur in New York who bought Blue.com for $65,000
in 2002."

Ic. I want to outsource a team and have them market a marketing package for my domains to large companies. Any ideas?

I think more people were throwing money around in the late 90's early 2000's. Now if you have a domain that makes business sense lots of searches, someone with money willing to invest maybe they'd buy it. But careful of getting a domain of a copyright term, they might just take it

What are some big companies who are known to buy domain names or websites?
