Hello

I keep seeing people buying different domains for the same site for "SEO purposes". Such as aged domains or ones with keywords in them. Now I understand how this can be useful, but I am unsure as to how you get search engine to rate you on them.

I know all domains should be set up as a 301 redirect to the main domain, so how do you get the benefit of other domains? I mean what is the step by step process of getting the most out of "SEO friendly" domains, because if I am not mistaken search engines are only going to display the main domain for a site in their index, so I cant see how other domains help....

Any help would be highly apreciated!
:)

By redirecting the "old" (new registered) domain it will look like all the old backlinks are pointing to your main site. So this is basically a method to get cheap backlinks for your main site.

ok and what about new domains (newly registered) domains which are jst more keyword rich? how do I get the benefit from those?
