Domains: moneyphrase vs money-phase

Guys, I would really appreciate your advice in choosing domains.

AFAIK, the best possible domain is one that is an exact match to your money phrase. Say you would be optimizing for "credit cards". Provided that the exact match is not available, what would be a better option:

a) money-phrase.com
b) wordmoneyphase.com

So for example, if you are gunning for say "credit report" and creditreport.com is not available, but both credit-report.com and freecreditreport.com are an option, which domain would you pick ?

Lets leave the TLD out of the picture in order to focus on the domain name.

Both are good. As long as you have the main keywords in the domain name, it shouldn't matter that much. More of a personal choice I guess.

credit-card.com is better. adding words does lowers the keyword presence inthe domain.

credit card.com has a 100% keyword density
wordcreditcard.com has a 66% keyword density.

if you are competing for the same phrase with more people, the first option will always be better.,

Didn't dashes get penalized or only if more then 1 ?
