I've heard that URL are no more relevant for SEO purposes

So if for example, you want to best rank "plumber in Peoria" the domain plumberpeoria.com may do the same as the domain plumpeo.com

But still, I'm not 100% sure of this because I'm still seeing some evidence of site ranking ridiculously well with a good domain.

This said, for those who "still believe" in Domain benefits for ranking. Which should be better:

plumberpeoria.com
or
plumber-peoria.com

Also heard that Google see the hyphen "-" as a "space".

Therefore if for example, we want to rank let's say "bath improvement"

domain.com/bath-improvement-tips
will be much better than
domain.com/bathimprovementtips

So I understand that in the first level things may work the same

Finally, with the new gTLD lets say for example that I have the domain

plumber.services

If I create the URL

plumber.services/peoria

Or

plumber.services/in-peoria

May it serve as the query: "plumber services in peoria"?

Or a different site, lets say:

plumpeo.com/plumber-services-in-peoria

Will be ranking better?

Conclusion

First Rank:
[query: plumber peoria]

plumberpeoria.com
vs
plumber-peoria.com

Second Rank:
[query: bath improvement]

domain.com/bath-improvement-tips
vs
domain.com/bathimprovementtips

Third Rank:
[query: plumber services in peoria]

plumber.services/in-peoria
vs
plumpeo.com/plumber-services-in-peoria

Fourth Rank:
[query: plumber services]

plumber.services
vs
plumpeo.com

With same content, same backlinks and same everything, which do you think that may win in each example (or draw)?

By the way, the question is not about if exact match actually works. The question is more about the combinations "-" (hyphens) and dots in the exact match

Here some info:
https://www.hobo-web.co.uk/search-e...ount-keywords-in-the-url-as-a-ranking-signal-

Does having a keyword in the URL of your web address improve rankings in Google? An exact match domain name is a web address with the same EXACT words in it that make up a popular search – like “bingo.com” or “bingo.co.uk”.
The answer is yes it can help. Exact match – and partial match – domains are just NOWHERE near as powerful than they once were.
An exact match domain name with low-quality spammy links and keyword stuffed text USED to outrank a real site with thousands of natural links for that term.
For a long time.
But things have changed a little over the past few years.
Having a low-quality long tail keyword variation exact match domain is no substitute for having a brand in my opinion, and never was.
An exact match domain might help you rank for that term, but if you want thousands of visitors a day, you need a breadth of keywords to keep a business running, not just one long-tail key phrase and a few variants.
Do exact match domains still work in 2018?
Yes.

So which ranks better for
[query: plumber services in Peoria]

a) plumber.services/peoria
b) plumber-services-peoria.com
c) plumber-services.com/peoria
d) plumberservicespeoria.com

According to the (in-famous) Jacksonville.attorney , hoax?
https://globerunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Jacksonville-Attorney-FINAL.pdf

people looking for
[query: jacksonville attorney] which is a really pricey keword
found in first rank this site just by the fact that the site had this combination of keywords

Same case can be seen in the classical ranking with:

[query: top 10 reflex cameras]
top10review.com/reflex-cameras

Part of the first level domain was relevant + part of the slug as exact matches thorough the URL

placestovisit.com/peoria

Will technically rank good for
[query: places to visit in peoria]

Same for

[query: how to save energy]
bestsave.energy/how-to-solutions
