Hey everyone...hoping for some friendly advice here... a few days ago a few of my domains were slapped by the big G , down to a quality score of 1/10 for even the most relevant keywords. I received no warning and have no idea as to why or what to do to reverse the slap (is it even possible?). These domains were fine on adwords for nearly 3 years. So what is the general consensus on how to reverse a slap? I'm open to anything at this point... thanks very much
First thing I would do is try and contact Adwords and ask them why your domains have been slapped. Google is a funny creature, no one really knows how they operate.
thanks guys...I will do this, but is there any good way of just setting up a new domain with the same content or even using a blogger account as the landing page to get a good QS? Any ideas?
Give this article a read - see if anything in there stands out or could apply to your case. Code: http://ryanbuke.com/2010/02/11/he-mystery-of-the-google-adwords-slap-explained/ Cheers.
You can work on optimizing it using more content, links, dynamics and etc, or try and argue with Google. Or, if it is profitable, just upload all your groups into adwords editor. Get another .com. Change the display URL and destination URL in adwords editor, then download the whole group again. I did this over, and over until I figured out how to get around the slap.
New domain will work best. When G slaps something it is very hard to restore it. I have a friend who is big adwords advertiser and he got even suspended account when G decided that his site was not relevant. They restored his account but he was never able to promote the same website.
But that won't solve the problem, it'll just get slapped again. Your problem is either your site content or your offer. Remember Google is all about user experience so if you're pushing shitty offers prepare to get slapped/banned.
You really need to take this as an opportunity to learn. Add articles to your LP and build your QS back - then you will never be in this situation again. What offer type were you promoting? That may be key.
yeah, get in touch with them. they'll always provide some nice advice. The quality score thing is sometimes a mystery. I've got a few keywords with really high quality scores for my site, and those keywords appear nowhere on my site's content or my meta info lol. so i have no clue how they operate sometimes.
Have you ever done spamming? Means if you have used an auto blog commenter or some software like that, then you may get this slap.
