Okay so I got a little problem here, I'm trying to get my website to just rank, not trying to get it amazing low rank, just ranking period. We'll take Alexa for example, my website shows "No Data". I know I just brought my site up a few days ago, but I'm trying to do the best I can with it. When I try to add my website to Alexa it asks me to put a META tag on my main website or just upload another file to my website so it can verify it.

Alright well that's no problem, so I added the META tag to my main page, tried to verify and it couldn't be found, so I tried it a few more times, no success. So I went for the uploading the file route, tried to verify, didn't work. So I'm really scratching my head on this one, since I'm fairly new to this.

What I have:

* .info domain hosted by Godaddy.com
* byethost.com free web hosting

Right now my domain is set to Forwarding with Masking, not sure if that's the correct thing to do, but it was the only way to keep my website name saying my .info domain instead of websitename.byethost6.com. I looked in the byethost control panel and added my domain to it. So now I have my standard htdocs folder and mydomain.info -> htdocs folder. So I thought maybe this would fix it, so I put all my websites files in the mydomain.info -> htdocs folder and tried to verify through Alexa again, still nothing.

So I did a little more research and saw that I might have needed to update the nameservers, so I did, I changed the nameservers in my Godaddy domain manager to the ones it listed in my byethost control panel, that canceled out the forwarding I had set. So I gave it some time to update which it did, then when I visited the mydomain.info it just basically took me to the mydomain.byethost6.com and didn't seem to do anything besides forward me there.

So is there any help with this? I want to be able to visit my website http://www.mydomain.info/ and when I click a link it come up as http://www.mydomain.info/link.html because that seems to be the only way I'm going to be able to register my domain on websites like Alexa. I'm sorry this is such a noob question, but I've been doing testing the past 2 days and made sure I tried numerous different things before I posted this up. My website has gotten almost 5,000 hits today and over 4,000 of them unique. So I want to try to get this Alexa thing cleared up soon as possible.

Thanks
