In take your case of hello-world, it have both pro and cons.
Talking about pros it's descriptive and easy to read. And it's con is some users may forget to put hyphen which may redirect them to other's website.
And for ranking on google your website should be SEO Optimized and it has many component within it. I would suggest you to work on your SEO portion your site will rank on google.
