Hi all,

I want to open website on specific niche.

I tried to buy the domain but that domain in sold to someone else which the domain is parked, but i can buy similar to that one.

example parked domain is helloworld. com and im looking to buy hello-world. com

this is just example.

My question is will it rank on google as hello-world or it will be better to have all helloworld?

I do not recommend getting a doman with a "-" in it, it is very ugly and unprofessional. Instead look for same name but with a .com .net .io or .info extension preferably or just a whole different name.
 
hello-world, a hyphened domain name is a bad idea. There are a number of reasons you can find with a little search.
Your next best option is a synonym of helloworld.com, try to stay with .com.
If you want to target the emd then
helloworld.net, helloworld.org or hello.world
 
Instead of using - you could take different tld. That's better.
 
It is not recommended to get such domain. Get different domain name.

You can come with a different domain name that means the same or add a prefix or suffix. Also try some brand name generators using your keywords.
 
Using different characters apart from letters is not a good idea
 
Contrary to what most people will tell you, there is not really anything wrong with a hyphenated domain name except in the case of brandable domains. (Where you expect people to type the name in).

If it ranks in Google, people will click on it, just just any other domain. There are even cases where a hyphen might actually be better, such as when the last letter of a word is the same as the first letter of the next, like elevatorrepair.com vs elevator-repair.com.

It's up to you.
 
For SEO it doesn't matter for which domain you go for but it's always better for the eyes to buy the one without the -

Or TheRapistServices.com vs. Therapist-Services.com

Keywords in domains still have an impact for SEO rank, regardless of what G publicly says.

If you only care about SEO and driving search engine traffic, an exact match hyphenated .COM domain can be a good option.

If you want to build a real business and have an established website and online presence, I would NOT use a hyphenated domain.

I would only use a .COM and find something like GET+keyword.com or MY+Keyword.com etc.

The only exception would be EXACTMATCH.org if it was a topic that fit .ORG, like environmental, public well being etc.
 
It's not an issue now to have a special character in your domain name

So build the domain and keep working on it and get the top ranking positions

Just focus on creating good content, and build high quality backlinks.
 
but is it real? how will this work? It seems to me that the first one will be a domain without dashes, straight.
 
Although it doesn't directly affect ranking, it should be avoided at all costs. Hyphens make your brand appear spammy, which hurts your brand's credibility and creates a bad impression in the eyes of consumers.
 
dude you're wasting time stressing over this, just get a .net or a .org, if none of those are available then alter the name a bit, thehelloworld.com or something of that nature.
