I disagree. As someone in the UK I would say .com would be absolutely fine.
I am in the UK, so many websites use .com including about 95% of my own.

So how can we better optimize and promote the .com domain name suffix for the UK market? Do you post more .co.uk or .uk backlinks?

I assume that in the UK .com and .co.uk are the most used TLDs. Mix it up and let it look organic.

I'm also in the UK and use both .co.uk and .com domains. Just make sure you mention the UK in your content, and have a contact address in the UK mentioned prominently. Also, write your content in British English eg colour instead of color, analyse instead of analyze etc

Some times is difficult getting a domain name this days
Most I done buy an age domain name, i always build from scratch
just dont have a budget for getting an aged domain name..... for me i will advice you go with the .com

To me as a UK resident I see .co.uk as a company based in the UK and .com as a worldwide company.

If you want to expand its global worldwide audience,.com domain extensions are excellent. But.co.uk domain extensions are ideal if you operate a UK-based business or are primarily interested in attracting UK visitors and consumers. They're usually a little less expensive, and they frequently indicate personal or local service that larger.com businesses don't.

Since it is difficult for my target niche market to obtain .uk expired domain names, only one niche-related .com expired domain name is currently found. I think I can only choose .com to build a website for the UK market
