Domain Scalping

Hey was just thinking about a possible method to make money online.

You know how there is always a few big concerts a year, and all those bloody scalpers buy the tickets and sell them for a way higher price on ebay??

Well couldnt someone do the same thing, but using a domain.

For example.....

maybe a new movie is coming out

you buy domain "newmovie-download.com" or something that will be in high demand

then sell it at $100?
could this work?

where is a GOOD place that you can sell just the domain?

Could work, but probably buy many that you don't sell, which equates to it being a waste of time. Better off putting up a crap site and trying to sell it on Flippa. Still not sure how good it would work though.

I know it used to work, and it probably still does. I knew someone who bought lots of domains at a time. For every 1 good one he sold, it made up for 10 bad ones + profit. Think of it this way:

Buy 10 .COMs for $100 and sell a good one for $150. Better yet, wait until there is another GoDaddy or NameCheap coupon, and get a few domains at $1 and sell one for $100.

yea I thought of that as well... but then i would have to spend more time creating a site and doing SEO wouldnt I?

or doesnt it matter if the site isnt ranked and gets 0 visitors?
