Domain registrar with free privacy?

I know that GoDaddy charges additional fees (like $9.99 per domain) for privacy, however I have heard that other registrars dish out domain privacy for free.

Does anyone know of any registrars that give out free domain privacy, or at a lower price per domain than GoDaddy?

check out Name Cheap...you should be able to get first year free on privacy. i saw that godaddy recently reduce pricing on privacy but it may be dependent on how many domains you already own with them.
 
1and1.com includes your choice of public or private registration - both are free. I don't host many of my sites there as they are not cpanel oriented so installing WP is a pain but it's easy to point DNS servers to Hostgator or the like to run my sites. Basically, I just register with them and rely on them to help keep track of when renewals are due.
 
i bought all my domains from name period see oh em
use the coupon/promo code "FREEWHOIS" it never expires.
 
godaddy gives you free privacy if you bulk register domains ;)

Hi, like they said Namecheap gives one year free whois privacy protection with new domain registrations and transfers, i have some domains with them and never had any problems.
 
In general, a number of registrars offer free privacy for the first year and/or if you register or transfer a number of names with them for the first year you get privacy for free (for example, reg or xfer 6+ names @ godaddy and free privacy for those for the first year; namecheap offers free privacy for the first year or a reg or a transfer).

As stated by someone else, internet.bs = free privacy for the life of the name there.

As for 1and1...no. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. They are among the worst, most incompetent and backstabbing registrars around. If you enjoy having your wallet and potentially your domain names violated anally, use them; otherwise, avoid. 1and1 = domaining cancer.

Name dot com offer free whois. Buy your domain using code COOLOFF, then once bought add the whois privacy in the control panel, and use code FREEWHOIS in your basket. You can transfer domains in for $7.39, and no code is needed!! (Well, for the low price. You still need to use it for the free privacy.)
 
Namecheap - free for 1st year.

From second year onwards, you can get privacy for $0.99 using WGSPECIAL coupon
 
godaddy is free when you register more than 6. Just register 6 .infos and you get free privacy on other domains. New .infos are $1 something each, 6 are cheaper than 9.99 privacy. let them expire next year, rinse and repeat.
 
Namecheap.com offer free privacy with every new registration.
