Domain redirect or Urls redirect?

I have website ABC.com running for 1 year, now I want to create another website DEF.com which has the same similar but better content than ABC.com.
Reason is DEF.com domain is better for branding.
ABC.com has few hundred backlinks, mainly linked to the home page.
I want to pass the SEO value from ABC.com to DEF.com
is it ok to just do a domain redirect from ABC.com to DEF.com ?
I am not keen to do individual page urls redirect because their page structure are not that similar.

In your case , the sites are similar but DEF.com has better content and you want to pass the SEO value
Domain redirect will be a suitable option ....

Redirecting ABC.com to DEF.com can help with SEO, but if the pages are very different, individual redirects might work better for keeping their specific search benefits.
 
If the contents on your new site is better than the old site, I suggest you to use domain redirection to move the SEO value to your new site.
 
Analyze the links to your pages. If some very strong sites link to your page, but not to the main page, and link to it in the context of the article on it, then it is better to redirect such pages separately, and everything else just to the main page of DEF.com.

If there are no such links, you can send all pages to the main DEF.com page.
 
If you want to shift the goodness from ABC.com to DEF.com for a snazzier brand, think about redirecting the whole domain. But keep in mind, redirecting individual pages works better for holding onto each page's strength.
 
My suggestion would be use 301 redirect so it informs search engine the content has moved to new domain and update XML sitemap on DEF.com for the new structure.
 
REdirect would be a good option only if you do not have good ranking yet on ABC.com.

Will there be any conflict if I do domain redirect (via cpanel) & page direct at the same time (via cpanel or wordpress plugin)
 
I would suggest the domain redirect since you stated ABC.com has good backlinks which will benefit DEF.com.

It makes no difference how many times you set up a redirect, only the first one that is defined will work. Most likely it will be the first one in cPanel.
