Is the "under the hood stuff" illegal or something?
By "under the hood stuff" he just means there are some settings you need to change on your domain registration to point it to where you want it hosted at.
Dude, you might need to be doing some research on google for a little bit.
This is basic info you could find in about 10 minutes by just looking through the faqs at your registrar or host. If the don't have a faq then another 10 minutes on g00gle could get specific steps you need to do.
Sometimes its a good idea to do a little researching yourself, before asking how to do something in a forum. Then after you've found some info on your own, then go into forums and ask for clarification if needed. If you did try searching and couldn't find it then you need to learn how to expand or refine your search criteria. Like I said this is some really basic info.
for example it took me about 30 seconds to open a browser window type in a search and find this info for you.

http://www.thesitewizard.com/domain/point-domain-name-website.shtml
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Point-Your-Domain-Name-To-Your-Web-Hosting-Company
and another 5 seconds to find this for the other question in your op
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_parking
and in case you dont know what op is
i typed in what is op and got this
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=op
It seems like people forget that g00gle isn't jsut that thing that sends traffic to your website. It's the first thing to use when you need information.
edit - I'm not trying to be rude. I'm certainly not the smartest guy around and there are mountains of things I don't know. You certainly don't have to be a technical expert to market online. Just do a little more research first before asking questions, not only will it save you looking a little foolish, but you'll learn a lot more that way.
