Domain purchase and backlinks

Hi I want to purchase some domains that it has a lot of backlinks.
My goal is increase my reputation, but I have a doubt.
If I purchase the domains the backlinks are transfered to my main domain or not?

You can direct the new domain with backlinks to your main domain to benefit the link juice. 301 redirects.
