domain or subdomain banned?

Hi,
If i try some blackhat on one of my domains... but I create a subdomain, for example blackhat.mydomain.com

if google catches me, will it ban my whole domain or only my subdomain (which is blackhat.mydomain.com)?

i think that only the subdomain will be banned, while your domain will still come in serp pages

If the art of black hat is to deceive the mighty google, dont call you subdomain blackhat

I had the opposite of xhpdx but that was a few years ago mind, things may be different now

i haven't tested it, nor speak from experience
but banned subdomains from wordpress.com don't ban the whole domain from google

but of course wordpress might be a exception from the unwritten rules

I used subs in the past but stopped after a large site got completely banned. Since it is only $0.99 for a .info domain, I would rather create a bunch of those than risk losing everything in a split second.

Yeah.. and even for example .co.cc.. I doub't they will risk to get their PR6 banned... but I need some good answer although most of you seem to agree that only the subdomain will be banned..

I don't think that everyone is going to agree on something like this so it is going to come down to you doing your own tests. Personally, I don't think a domain is going to survive if you are getting subs banned. When there are flags raised, I am sure it doesn't take much for G to audit everything else on that domain. And yes, certain sites like Wordpress etc that offer subs to the public get a pass on some rules as they are a recognized domain/service.

Good luck with testing....be sure to do it with something automated though so that you don't gamble away everything.

From lots of experience with this, if the main domain has good authority and solid links it will survive, but if it does not, it will go as well.

I have a experience at 1 year ago with cloacking a page (subdomain) (at point of the google redirect my results directly to affiliate offer) and only subdomain was banned

Testing is the key...

I used to play around with subs/root domain tricks/games.
Place 10 sites all as subs...doing just normal cloaking with kloakit ..for some odd reason...they just were not getting banned by google ..never built anything on the white hat root domain though..
Became bored and played with a sub the other day,off a white hat site which is starting to rank slowly...started ranking well on a health insurance term...made it to page 2 on google in about 10 days..WTF..just by placing markov related spam and setting the future posts fucntion and auto pinging software...
Great..!
Then became even lazier..stuck in a wp content spinner...G appeared to spot it and killed it off by the 3 rd day...the main site is still there and perfect...google apears to view subs as separate domains sometimes..

Well, I know subdomains are treated differently by G for SEO purposes...

Think about blogger.com.. if one of their blogs got banned, would they ban blogspot or w/e... no, they wouldn't.. but as some said it may be because it has a high enough authority.. that and G owns it..

No your whole domain will be banned. It happened to me. You would do better to do a redirect from something like .co.cc if you think is chance of being banned. Even then they can usually track it
