domain not indexed. normal?

I wanted to buy a domain from godaddy but the domain is not indexed. when I search using the site: prefix, the domain doesn't show up.
in whois, the host is domaincontrol.com so that's godaddy.

usually, with godaddy's expired domains, when you go to the site using your browser, you will get that default godaddy page "learn how you can get this domain" or something like that.
but the thing is, with this domain, it goes to a blank page. there is nothing on the page, it's just a white page.
could this be the reason it's not indexed? or it should be indexed even though the page is blank?

If its an offer/counter offer or a Buy Now domain in the GoDaddy auctions, the domain may not have expired. It could simply be put on auction by the seller. In this case, you will not see the default GoDaddy page.

I would be concerned why the domain is not indexed in Google. Even if the domain has a single page, this page shows up in the result. Not showing up could mean that the domain is penalized and so I would do some more due diligence before purchasing it. Take a look at the back links, the wayback archive, trust and citation flow....

thanks for your response. you are right, it's not expired, it's a buy it now closeout.
the domain doesn't have many backlinks, it has like 20 very innocent, harmless backlinks.
archive shows it was ok January of this year. pretty normal site, not part of a PBN. there is nothing else after January.

It is better to purchase a domain which is not yet expired, because the link juice stays and Google hasn't marked the domain as parked. I have some domains that were parked for several days (I missed to renew them) and after I renewed them, they lost their authority for several months. Anyone has such experience with expired domains?

Its a risky going for such domains, it might have been penalized or de-indexed.
