I’m learning more about domain names and parking and wanted to hear general opinions on how relevant it still is today.

Do parked domains still receive meaningful traffic?

What factors matter most when choosing a domain to park?

Any general lessons learned from managing parked domains over time?

This is just for discussion and learning no

For niche flips or brandables, maybe. For generic domains? Dead.

Parked domains still get some traffic, but it’s very hit or miss now. Most of the value comes from type in traffic or old backlinks. Domain choice matters more than parking setup. Over time, I’ve found parking works better as a holding move than a real income play.

Hi, Victor Hale

Parking still works, but only in narrower lanes than it used to.
Meaningful traffic today is usually residual or navigational, not something you can manufacture.
What matters most is intent quality, not volume, along with where the traffic is routed and how clean that supply chain is.
Parking reveals a domain’s ceiling quickly, but it rarely builds value on its own.
