Without a hyphen is better. If you are into domain flipping, it is one of the most basic things you'll learn.

Never really put a thought about this, but a lot of popular site choose a domain without hypen so i guess more or less it affects how people view. I don't think you would need duplicate domain only because of hypen

Well. Even black-hat-world.com is still available for register until today
Even wikipedia don't own wiki-pedia version
 
Avoid using hyphens, they do not directly affect SEO, you need to have a credible brand. So, using hyphens makes your brand look spammy and this makes users have a negative brand perception.
 
Without hyphen will be better for my opinion it will be easy to readability
