Hi, I've been reading alot about starting a WP blog to monetize with clickbank. But first, could use some help with a few domain questions...

1. Since my exact match domain is already taken I'll need to add a keyword modifier. Does google give different rankings when the modifier is used as a prefix versus suffix? Which is more favorable for ranking purposes?

2. What about using a domain with multiple search phrases, combined with an "and" ... to capture traffic searching for both keywords? For example ABCinformationandplanning, therefore the ABC + information and ABC + planning phrases would be read be google. Does it even work this way? Any suggestions or cautions with this approach?

3. In using the google keyword tool to research potential domain phrases, what should be the minimum number of global/local monthly searches, that would be reasonable to expect some good traffic? For example is 2,000 global searches too low to expect decent traffic? And is that using "Exact" or "Phrase" match or both?

1. No, treated similarly
2. Is ok. Long domain names are not good. 3 or less is best for ranking
3. > 1000 is ok. But check CPC for Adsense (in case you want to monetize with Adsense). Also target similar phrases to boost overall traffic. 4-5 other related keywords will be good and easy to manage.

Thanks for the quick reply. Could you explain a bit more the second part of your answer to #3, not sure I understand -

Lets say your main keyword is "Sandisk memory card". That will be your primary keyword. Along with this you can target "Kingston memory card" and generic ones like "flash memory cards". These become your secondary keywords. You can write separate posts targeting these keywords and since they share context you also end up building an authority site around memory cards.

This also helps in link diversity since you can use the secondary keywords in backlinks anchors.
