I want to get opinions on naming domains.

For instance, if your category was "blue widget".

Say "bluewidgetinfo.com" or "thebluewidget.com" is available.

Should these 2 domain names still rank for having the keyword "blue widget" in the domain?

Assuming you have great onsite/offsite SEO, I would think you could possibly outrank bluewidget.com?

Just how important is it to have the exact keywords only in the URL(domain name)?

Also, what about .com vs .net and .org? Is there much difference in ranking on the search engines?

Thoughts?

Thanks

Exact keywords in domain rank well in SEO.
If you don't have exact keyword domain available its better to opt for keyword with some text as you mentioned bluewidgetinfo.com or thebluewidget.com.
If these 2 domains on your option, its good to go for bluewidgetinfo.com.

All the best

How about the .com vs .net vs .org?

.com ranks good than the rest. But some domains like .co.uk ranks good in UK than .com for the same keyword.

the, and, or, with is disregarded by google. So better to use them rather than info.
