Hi all,

Would like to know if it's worth to buy a domain name to use on a blogger blog. Is it easier to rank? If yes better .com or .fr domain name(blog in french).

Thanks

You will just be working on a regular domain with limited control instead of a subdomain
If your going to buy a domain, your better off just hooking up wordpress
If you want a 100% free blog than go with blogger without buying a domain

I just started a .weebly site a few months ago which has worked out quite nicely. I'm a dumbarse with code and I only pay for things with money that the site made itself. I haven't quite decided on a domain yet, but I know I will go with a .com, nothing else. Very rarely do I hear of people using a .tf, .info, .co, .us or whatever happily. .Com is the way to go man.

Maybe for now though, use a blogger, or weebly, or whatever subdomain, and get some free domains from Freenom that you can link to your site. I dunno, I have proof that you can make a .weebly domain work well if you do it right. Sorta difficult though..

Buying a new domain and ranking is little difficult one, other than buying an expired or expiring domain is easy.

visit our marketplace http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f195-domains-websites-sale/
and get some samples from buyers.
Check whether they are indexed in Google or not.
Use some SEO tools to check PR, DA, Age, CF, TF and all.
Then built your domains by using quality content and backlinks, then you will get decent traffic.

I think we need to use your services if we want to buy a lot of domains.

Dont invest some extra money on blogger when you can get all benefits for free.

You can certainly use a custom domain with Blogger, although I wouldn't say it's any easier to rank than any other website.

A .fr domain would be better if the traffic you're targeting is coming from France. A .fr domain name will easily outrank a .com domain for users located in France. If your targeted traffic is not coming from France, then a .com domain name is better.

Yes if you are not planing to make a worldwide website .

Ok thanks for all advice. Will first try without a domain name and if I see I have some succes will make an other blog with hosting and domain name.

There's only few free domain, but it's hard to find it out. Nowadays almost all has a corresponding fee.

We assume that he is looking for domain like all other users own .com .net
Well, for TLDs he would probably have a difficult time getting a free domain (unless someone on this forum has another giveaway). He could always look for cheap .com domains that are up for sale through a domain registrar's marketplace, but even then he would have a difficult time finding a cheap one.
