Hello,

I have a .nl domain registered with OVH. I received an email from SIDN informing me that they want to verify the accuracy of the information of the person the domain is registered to:

Msg from SIDN: 'Based on an inquiry we have doubts if the name and contact details in our database for the registration of the domain name(s) listed at the bottom of this email are correct.'

As you can guess, the data is fake, and I don’t want to disclose my real information. In the rest of the message, they informed me:

'We asked the registrar to take one of the following actions within 3 working days:

  • Send us a copy of the registrant's ID or a Trade Register extract identifying the registrant.
  • Update the registrant-data for the domain name(s).
  • Cancel the domain name(s).'

I’m wondering if there’s any 'trick' that could unblock the domain without providing my own data? I was thinking about transferring it to NETIM, but I’m not sure if that would help. Do you have any other ideas?

i see noway around this but just wanted to let you know almost every cctlds will require some sort of verification it could come in a day after registration or a whole year but eventually they all want to know how cute you look in your id photo! so try to avoid them!
