Metrics like DR, DA, or AS are indicators but not direct search engine signals.

Sites can inflate metrics through:

▸ aggressive link exchanges
▸ expired domain redirects
▸ artificial backlink profiles

Real evaluation requires looking beyond the numbers to trust, relevance, and authority.

Which metric do you trust the least when evaluating a website?

Traffic on the website and relativity to my niche.

DA for me. Easy to inflate with random links. I look more at real traffic and niche match.

I trust DR the least when evaluating a website. Many sites increase DR using link exchanges, redirects, or artificial backlinks. These numbers may look good, but they don’t always show real authority. I prefer checking relevance, traffic, and content quality.

Metrics can be manipulated, so focus more on how relevant and trustworthy the site actually feels. Personally, I trust things like DA or AS the least—they’re easy to inflate and don’t tell the full story.

I agree, metrics like DR or DA are only indicators, not ranking factors. Link patterns can influence them and don’t always reflect real quality.

Personally, I trust them the least when they are very high, but the site has weak content, low traffic, or irrelevant backlinks. I focus more on organic traffic, content quality, and link relevance rather than a single metric.

Domain metrics can be useful for a quick overview, but they don’t always reflect the true quality of a website. Sometimes a site may have strong numbers but very little real traffic, relevance, or engagement.

In many cases, factors like content quality, niche relevance, and organic activity give a clearer picture than metrics alone.
