Alright.. Godaddy was sending me emails to renew my domain name, I didn't renewed it.. I got a last email from godaddy saying "This notice is to inform you that the items listed below have been deleted from your XXXXXXXX account"

I've never faced this kinda problem before..

I want that domain back! when I searched for that domain it's saying "domain already taken"...

Now what do I do? How can I get my domain back?

Did you try contacting their customer service. There has to be a procedure for getting your domain back.

When I search for my domain name it's giving a link to DOMAIN BUY shit..

    Look at this: :(

Why do I have to pay $80 for buying a domain name? If the answer is "domain is already taken, then I would have option to renew it at the first place, but the domain is deleted from my account because I didn't renewed it!"

I've posted a support ticket and there is no response from them at all!

I don't understand why you don't understand what has happened here.

You had a domain name, that you agreed to certain terms of service(a contract) that gave you a expiration date. Even after multiple emails to remind you, you did not renew it.

Now you are whining that you want "your" domain name back?

You do know that there are expired domain buyers that buy domains as soon as they expire right?

Thats a part of Godaddy's business model. You will ahve to pay $80+ to get your domain back. I learned that same lesson the hard way just as you. I bet you $10 to a bucket if shit, that no one bought your domain, Godaddy has it and will auction it.

Okay GD bashers, go ahead, but look - the OP even said he got the damned renewal notices. When your registrar - any registrar - sends you notices about a name you have regged coming up for renewal, they aren't joking around.

If you've received such emails and ignored them it's your own fault when the name falls back into the pool. If you really want the name back call them - now, before more time elapses - and ask them if it's in redemption status or any other way retrievable (posting a support ticket and then whining about a lack of response to it isn't gonna do you any good).

More importantly, though, don't be this guy. Keep on top of your names, if you have ones you value it's actually better to be pro-active and monitor them rather than just waiting for the registrar notices. And don't jump on a bandwagon bitching about any registrar simply because one of their registrants chose to ignore notifications about needing to renew a name. There may be plenty of reasons to criticise a particular registrar, but that's not a valid one.

I'm sorry but wtf? Godaddy told you to renew it and you didn't. Let's use this example shall we:

    You buy a car.
    You make payments.
    You stop making payments.
Bank reminds you to make payments.
    Bank takes car.
    Bank auctions car.
You whine about wanting your car back?
    ?? profit?

C'mon dude! That was a mistake! I didn't notice those emails until I searched my inbox for that domain name and those emails popped up.. I was busy with other things..

EDIT: And I'm not criticizing any domain registrar at all! I'm just referring to the registrar with whom I've registered my domain name so that if any one know about this scene they can help me if they are willing to help.. I'm not accusing some one at all! That's not my point. I had this situation so I just asked! That's all!

That's your fault. Tough shit. It's your responsibility to renew your domains.

If I don't pay my phone bill and vodafone cut off my phone... that's my fault regardless of what else I've been doing!

My guess is the grace period has expired. If you'd renewed the domain after expiry and before the grace period, you'd have got the domain back. Now you're being charged that extra amount for retrieving "after" the grace period. It's standard practice among many registrars.

I've lost $1000s in "mistakes" over the years, whether that be on poor business decisions, trusting people on forums, general lack of experience etc... so I know where you're coming from, but coming to a forum to complain about it isn't going to help.

Contact GoDaddy and explain you want your domain back. If you have to pay $80, pay it. Lesson learned. Move on.

Do these people think commenting like this will INCREASE THEIR REPUTATION SO THAT THEY CAN SELL SOMETHING TO BHW MEMBERS IN THE FUTURE? huh?
