I was looking for domain that is in Auction. I checked in Ahrefs for referring domains and here are stats -

Referring domains in "Domain with all its subdomains" - 3,954
Referring domains in "Exact URL" - 98

So, the homepage has only 98 referring domains. If I purchase this in auction will it pass all authority of 3,954 Referring domains?

Subdomain is the separate host (like separate site), what mean that only links to www/root domain will be counted.

    Cheers, Greg.

I checked in https://ahrefs.com/backlink-checker and it shows all referring domains to sub domains and other pages also

Here is the domain, you can check in AHrefs - Turnpike.net
I don't care if anyone else also bids in this domain. I am here to learn things that I don't know

You have to look at the "prefix":
    upload_2019-10-3_9-19-34.png

This way you will see all the RDs that are to domain.com/path/
In this case this is 675 RDs which is not bad at all. Its not a problem that those links are not to the homepage - you can either recreate the old pages or 301 them to new pages/homepage. Same with the subdomains.
