Domain hosting for beginners ?

Hi BHW,

i spent the last 3 weeks researching and reading all over BHW. I finally want to start taking actions.

My first task is to get a domain hosting . I am fully committed to this IM thing and willing to put in upfront money. Hostgator is offering 36months $4 unlimited domain/unmetered bandwidth, but you have to pay upfront around $150-$210 with add-ons like email and security and back-up.

My question is, should I buy this even though I am fully committed but I am still a complete noob.
What hosting packages do intermediate and advanced marketers use .

You can find plenty of hosting deals here on this site, all will be better than hostgator.

Plenty of options for $4-5 a month without having to pay upfront.

Have a look in the marketplace, you will find something better.
 
Yep, stay away from EIG. Cloudhosting is much better - it is a bit more technical, but you have the advantage of being at the very start of your IM journey - eager for knowledge, you should read up on it now.

Digitalocean, Vultr, Atlantic, Amazon AWS, are all great and cheap options to get started.
 
I use namecheap, it provides really cheap services

They are shit in any way!

OP bhw has plenty of good hosters, I've tried several of them and currently hosting at @HudsonWebServices check em out on http://www.hastehosting.com their customer support is supreme to godaddy and if you are a beginner they will help you setup properly.

For registering domain names I recommend namesilo and Namecheap.

Thats not the problem tho. Godaddy asks money for bullshit services that should have been free. Like Whoisguard for instance. And weird google rankers that dont do anything.
 
Check out namecheap or arvixe. I have started with those 2 hosting companies. I still have an account with them.

But there are plenty of other options apart from a shit company like godaddy & just as cheap if not cheaper!
