Domain help!

I have found a keyword with roughly 18,000 global monthly searches. It is a low competition keyword.

There are 600,000 results on Google for this keyword.

The domain is available.

Is this a good domain name?

It depends on many factors.
Are the searches exact or broad?
Where do they come from? You can check for some of the highest paying countries like the US. If most of the searches come from Somalia you will hardly make a lot of money with it.
600,000 results on Google is not so many if the search is without quotes. But then again, everything depends on the keyword and the niche.

These are just a few things to consider. Having in mind that domain names are quite cheap nowadays, I would say that you cannot lose much if you register the name anyway. So if you see any potential in it, just get the name.

How do you know if they are exact or broad?

I checked in quotes like this "example example" and there were only 17,000 results. So I take it that is good?

As for checking where the traffic is coming from how do I go about doing that?

You can check if they are exact or broad by selecting a checkbox in Google's keyword tool. It should be somewhere on the left side with oprions for exact, phrase and broad.

17,000 could be good or bad depending on the particular case. It is hard to say just like that.

About the origin of the traffic, you can do this with Google's keyword tool again, you can select countries there. Just look around at the page and you will find this option - it is below the area where you type the keywords in and above the area where the results are listed.
