I wouldn't buy from network solutions if I was you. I mean i'm sure they're fine if you are planning to renew it through them and or host it with them. But I bought a domain on one of their deals for around a $1. I didn't really do anything with it and I turned off auto-renew. And then a year later they sent a piece of mail to my door saying that I owe them for the domain fee and the fee for a debt collector because I didn't renew my domain even though I turned auto renew off.

    Just be careful I guess!

They'll charge at least $35/year to renew. You can go for the 50 cent deal, but transfer out of there before you need to renew again. Also you may want to use an alternate junk email account to sign up, or else be prepared to get spammed with tons of annoying emails from Network Solutions.
