Domain flipping! Need your help!

So recently I have been reading aricles about how to flip domains and how it is the internet "real estate".

So I was just typing in random domains into godaddy and found that a two word 8 letter .com that in my opinoin is pretty "good" that was only 12.99.
So what I did was to ran it on some estimate websites godaddy one of them and all of them said that the domain was over 1000 dollars? Did I just go really lucky or if I buy it and put it up on flippa or sedo no one will buy it?

I also searched on google just the name of the domain and there is over 25 pages of it.
I also went and checked the history of the domain on whois and it had never been registerd is this something good?

Help me out please?

pretty useless really being honest

a domain to flip is a domain with heigh stats in a very good niche.

named domains with no stats like yours are hard to sell or take forever to get rid of be warned .

there so many . extension now people just buy them if there has gone (( we are talking name domains with no stats/weight))

i use to flip domains in the early days , when the name ment somethink , them days are over unfortunately .

a .com still the most wanted exstention .

That is true.

Either build a blog, run a adsense and then try to flip it.

May be, then someone can buy when they see some traffic on ur site.

Or else, its really tough to get a buyer today.

Never search for a domain on the registrar, where you're planning to buy it. On the 2nd attempt (or when you commit to buy), its price can "misteriously" go up or a domain, which was available, when you searched for it, next time it's only available for auction for an inflated price. It's called domain name front running. It's a sneaky tactic and GoDaddy is notorious about this.

Use one of these for domain name availability check:
https://whois.icann.org
https://domains.google

And use these to check TLD prices (register, renew, transfer), 3 year value etc.:
https://tld-list.com
https://www.domcomp.com
The cheapest is not always the best of course, but at least you can see, if you're about to get ripped off by a particular registrar.

The results of automatic domain appraisal sites is not something you can rely upon, don't base your decision on those.
