.xyz domain is the recently developing domain name which is equal to .com domain. I think, .xyz is next to .com. The developing domain will not dominating the developed domain.
So, you need not get worry on if it will rank or not in google SERP.

Yeah. If you have .xyz site, just try it and see the increase in ranking.
