Domain Extension Relevance Q

Hi, I am tyring to reach mainly the canadian market but as well as some popular cities in the US, would a canadian extension limit my accesibility/visibility from US cities. The reason I ask is because obviously CA's are easier to make more catchy and short.

.ca is good but if you want to reach people in the US then you want .com unless it is a site about canada then .ca would also work
