Hi,

I've read that certain domain extensions are more easily ranked than others (e.g. .com, .net). I've done a search for a domain I'd like to buy about an upcoming celebrity but .com/.net/.co.uk are already taken. If I bought .org or .info would it be too hard to rank these highly or does it not make too much difference? The already domains only point to parked pages so they wouldn't provide much competition (unless someone starts using them).

P.S. .info is only $3.99/year on namecheap so that one would be the best option price-wise.

Thanks for any help

Just noticed that .com, .net and .co.uk are available when a hyphen's used like forename-surname.com. Is it better to use a domain without hyphens and .org/.info or go for the hyphenated domain with the more popular extension?
