Okay,so i'm planing to open a local forum, with not so much competition on my keywords. The problem is I live in Romania, and a .Ro domain it's around 39euros,wich is too fucking expensive from my point of view, for a non internation domain.
So,the main competition,is a .ro domain.

If i'll buy let's say,a .org/.net/.info domain, will i have less chanses to be number one on google search for my keywords?

Hope you understood me,and i'm waiting for an answer.

Thanks BHW members!

Can anyone answer my question please?

You can rank with either .org or .net just fine. Get a keyword rich domain and start building buildlinks. If there is little competition for your keywords you can should be the number one or close to it in no time. Go for it.

Okay man, thank you for your answer!
Btw,when you wrote buildlinks, you were talking about backlinks?

eu zic sa iei .ro.rankeaza mai bine pe cautarile de pe google.ro

(MY EXPERIENCE)
I feel that two exact same hypothetical sites with exact same content/back links etc. Google will always give priority to the .com

I generally will only register .com 's unless the keyword domain is THAT good.

Even if the site it's in Romanian?I mean google dose't care about the language and domain extension?

buy the .com a.com with good keywords can generate $ even while it is parked.

local domains rank higher locally IMHO.

I have around 200 sites in the UK and the .co.uks rank higher under google.co.uk than on google.com

My .coms rank higher in English Speaking Countries than they do is the likes of Asia or Middle East.

Simple answer is.. if the site is targeting sales or revenue in romania then spend the extra on the GEO domain for your country.

I think if you do a search first, you don't have to ask this question

I understand your point of view, and thank you for the informations.
I think i'll get an org or .net domain,to see how it goes, and if it goes well,i'll buy a .ro domain
