Domain Authority vs Trust Flow etc.

i want to buy some backlinks but i'm not sure what to focus on. if you were buying backlinks from a pbn which of these four factors would you consider to be the most important for the referring site to have?

a high citation flow

a high domain authority

a high page authority

a high trust flow

in other words, which of the above will give your site the best boost?

Honestly, you should try Ahrefs DR as well.

So basically, check TF then check DR, the logic is that TF is usualy a good indicator if the domain is spammed or not, and DR is a pretty good indicator of the domain power since Ahrefs can find more links.

For PBN I should consider high TF. Also make sure that TF and CF ration should be 1:5. That means the blogs have quality backlinks.

The higher TF meaning is the quality of links. The higher CF means the number of referring domains the blogs have.

So CF and TF have balance ration. If there are a lot of referring domains but TF score is low means the links are low quality and have no value in terms of SEO link juice.

You mean to say CF/TF should be less than 1.5 ? or something elese?

Yes, ratio should not more than TF:CF = 1:1.5

Check the referring domains and anchor texts that they have.
If the referring domains are strong then for sure buy that domain regardless of tf/da/etc.

I am sorry for my typo and confusing you. The ration should not more than like 1:1.5. Like TF 10 and CF 15

Domain metrics are most important IMO.

DR or DA or whatever they call it. You can work the rest out if your domain is strong.

Definitely - I would use anything other than Ahrefs' DR just as an initial filter. They nailed it with that last update. Also # of referring domains

I normally look at TF and CF in majestic; as said above, cf shouldn’t be much higher than TF.

And I look for topical relevance in majestic. Then I look at number of referring domains and then the actual referring domains (looking for authorities and relevance).

I haven’t used ahrefs DR much, but recently I’ve been checking that on domains I’m already using and it seems to be quite accurate in terms of reflecting decent domains.

For guest posting I’m also looking at ahrefs organic keyword rank and semrush traffic.

When it comes to metrics, best is if it has high TF (shows it has backlinks with high quality), and that CF is not higher than TF (shows there's not much spam links).
Also look for high PA (and DA, but if it's web2.0 then they always have high DA).
Nevertheless, backlink profile itself is more important than the metrics as they are third party tools. Ahrefs changed their DR algorithm couple of weeks ago and I haven't understood it yet so I don't put much scale to it.

All the available metrics should be referred to, which would tell you on whether the link is a good one or not.
I would go with TF>25, DA/PA>40 , and these should be good links to start out with.
Although DA/PA can be manipulated by a large bulk of spam links, TF is unaffected by these spam links - even though a ton is built to that domain.
Only good established sites that are trustworthy can transfer part of their TF to the site, and is a good indicator on the site's authority/trustworthiness.

When my clients want backlinks the first thing I do is look at their top 50 - 100 competitors and show them what backlinks they have. If competitor A and B are getting backlinks from website 1,2 and 3 and they are ranking on the first page that is a start

Out of interest, once you get a backlink, how long does it take for Ahrefs to update this on their DR?
