Domain Authority vs Good Content

So, just a small question out of curiousity.

If you have really good, but old content on a website, and then say your website's domain authority increases by 20-30 over a couple years, do you think that content would start ranking?

Basically, does creating content before/after domain authority increases make a difference?

I know there's probably no objectively "true" answer, but I'm just curious what you guys think.

Posting good content periodically on your website will increase the domain authority, you can also pass some social signals to the content to get traffic and diversifying your website over various platforms. Also do internal linking relevantly on your website, to pass link juice over all pages.
 
Well I'm a newbie too but I have atleast known this that if you have high DA even your 300 words articles will rank high, example News Sites
And
If your site doesn't has high DA then you have to write atleast 1000+ words articles to rank and they must be fresh because google always prioritises fresh content.

You can also update your posts with new researched relevant content
 
It's a chicken and egg question really.

Unless a domain has authority, you need to build it. Which means good content, good links and age to build trust.

If you have already have an authority site, then sure, content will rank, and rank higher when you link to it or build on it.

Content. Links. Social. Time.
 
You see, domain authority itself isn't an indicator of how well your site is going to perform in SERP. If that comes with a few old contents, a regular traffic flowing in, and some quality backlinks from relevant sites- that's what your perks are.

And once these perks are in hand, published contents will rank faster and higher than what contents from a 0 DA site would do.

No, in my opinion. In fact, I tend to believe older content is better, even if a newer content is of better quality.
 
The way I work is that if I have a new domain, I build quality LONG articles and target long tail KW's to get traffic/rankings etc. As my domain ages and gains authority via quality content and links, the serps will rise for the articles you 1st created for long tails and main KW's. I just keep writing decent content and given time, the KW's for these articles will likewise rank.

If you have an authority site with great links, crap content will also rank, unfortunately.

Thanks man, this post is similar to the plan I had in mind, so now you've confirmed it I feel much more confident.

On that last point, it's only unfortunate for us without high authority sites haha
 
Even if the content is good in quality but old ..fresh contents has the possibilities of during more traffic. Add some good quality backlinks to the content and share them on social platforms. It will surely increase your site traffic.
 
Old content can be rewritten and fresh thing added to it. This can bring fresh perspective regarding the topic being discussed and like @https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/seosprout.994306/ said, sending some quality backlinks and sharing on social platforms will help the content rank; even if it is not on an authority domain.
Note: The quality backlinks sent to the content will help increase the authority of the domain.

There is a thing called content deserves freshness, and this is a ranking signal that Google uses that allows them to put the freshest content first. Honestly the thing that will help all content rank will be links to the individual pages themselves and not the domains.
