I bought a domain that expired today, which was showing as 22y old, when bought this domain after it expired age on checkers reset to 0y age, is this normal?
Well, it is not a big mistake. The domain still has some value. Technically you can say that you have bought an expired domain with 22 years of history.Ugh, good to know. Learning by making mistakes.
Well, the worth of an 'aged domain' is debateable. It's mainly down to what backlinks the domain has, and an older domain will have had more time to pick up potentially juicy links from other old domains. The loss of reg date will make the domain look less appealing to some, but if it's clean and has good backlinks then it should still be useable for all sorts of things. Thanks Steptoe, so in this case I can’t count the domain as aged anymore? And isn’t worth as it was 22y old
