Hey I've heard from some expereinced BlckHatters that once a domain is 3-5 years old you don't have to worry about the dreaded G sandbox.

If thats true then here's my question.

I bougth a domain from someone that has been around since 2004.

Can I fire this site up with backlinks since it is 6 years old? It is new "for me" in that it has been registered in my name for only a few months.

But the domain itself has been around for 6 years.

I'd love it if I have an open door to backlink away.

Anyone know the answer to this?

There is NO SANDBOX forget it sandbox not exist, the thing here everyone is talking about is time frame while google recalculate whole niche websites rankings and give you new position if niche is big it can take some time, but the thing called sandbox really don't exist it is just time while google recalculate everything.

There exist other more serous things like google penalty if you will play a lot with links you can get this penalty for example 6-12 moths abd you will not be able to get out of it just wait till it ends.

Here is nothing to do with domain age google don't care how old is your domain.

If you will blast new website with no content and only shit links you will not rank high you have to have many links from a lot different sources.

I see what you are saying, and I tend to think there is not sandbox either, but I don't want to find out the hard way.

It sounds to me what you are calling the Google penalty is just the sandbox by another name. Even so, I don't want to get a six month Google penalty either.

But I have heard that there is no problem - no penalty, no sandbox, with older domains. That is what I was wondering because this domain is 6 years old, even though I have had it in my name for only a few months.

So in the end im looking for an open ticket to start blasting some backlinks without fear of this stuff.

To Google, the age of your domain doesn't matter, it's the age since they first found your site that matters to them.

Matt Cutts himself said that, and also that having a domain with a descent holding page up, describing what will be there in the future is better than just parking the domain.

Old domains will suffer less From google dance.

For example a Round of links in a new site you can enter in a google dance for 5-15 days..

In a older site this is more harder to happen.

ok i understand the difference between a G dance and a penalty/sandbox. I am not sure I even buy into the latter. I've never heard the argument refuted that if there were such a penalty/sandbox, one could do it to their competitors.

I sometimes wonder if the "sandbox" is just a prolonged dance of some sort?

My 7 years old domain, i blast away with scrapebox/xrumer and other kinds of services i buy here. I have never been thrown in the sandbox or penalised in any way. And i have run some fairly big linkbuilding campaings directly to my site.

Thanks exonit - nuff said. Time to blast.

BLAST AWAY partner, and have fun =] Goodluck, and prosperity, to you.
