I've been working on my Wordpress blog for about 3-4 months now, posting news articles every single day on what is relevant. I run a YouTube channel with over 53,000 subscribers and this is my website extension to that, since I wanted to post both articles and videos.

I feel like with everything I've done, all of the hard work I've put into the site, day in and day out, I'm not getting a significant traffic increase. We started out getting maybe 500-1000 visits per day. Now we are getting 2000-4000 visits per day, which is an increase, but it's all referral and direct traffic with search traffic falling behind daily.

I have a feeling something is up with the SEO and that my site isn't ranking well. I've been looking all over the web at different strategies and such and have tried some of them.

I would like it if somebody who has more experience with this then I would take a look at my site. If anybody has any suggestions, please take a look at my site which is listed in my profile under About Me (wasn't sure how to be allowed to post it in this thread). Thanks!

What do you mean? All of our content is written by us, so yes.

Your SEO strategy is definitely flawwed. Your fresh backlink profile index consists of just 9 referring domains and your historic profile index consists of just 27. You need some link diversity. Not only that, but your current backlink profile is split between just 3 anchor variations. You're doing a good job on the social side of things but your backlink profile needs some serious work.

Would you be able to explain a little more on what that means and how I could improve it. I've been trying to teach myself a ton of things over the months, I can understand some things related to SEO, but there are always some things I just don't understand. Thanks.

Wait, I had Majestic configured incorrectly. Nonetheless, you currently have 83 referring domains, which is still very low for over 10k backlinks.

What should be done about these types of situations? Any references or help? Thanks for your reply =]

1/ Your description is too long and can be made more concise (iOS reviews - unlock and jailbreak iphone 5, itouch, 4th and 5th generation iphone, ipad, ipod touch plus ios updates, release date (s) and jailbreaking app development to jail break iphone 5, itouch and ipad mini.) - cut it down by at least 10 percent
2/ Home page has too many URLs - has 266 URls - should be under 100 for Google SEO
3/ Site is medium load time - removing some URL's may speed things up
4/ No keywords meta tag - some people say you don't need it - but I say use it (Bing uses it)

Any suggestions on what URLs to remove and how to speed up the site otherwise?

Any URLs that are duplicate

Maybe reduce the front page posts from 15 to 5

Google reads the source code - take a look at it!

Cache plugin maybe - also check if any image file sizes can be reduced without loss of visual quality

On a scale of 1 to 3, with fast being 1 and 3 being slow - your site is 2 - so should be pretty easy to get site load time down to 1 second - it's 2 seconds at present

What cache plugin would you suggest?

If I reduce the posts from 15 to 5, wouldn't that be less keywords and such on the homepage?

Also, what is a good tool to determine load times?

you can never guess what goes wrong and when it goes wrong! SEO is totally unexpected!!

I've changed the site speed and load times dramatically. I've tested them on a few sites to be around .30-1 sec. Thanks for the tips guys!

I think I'm going to take a look at my description and such.

Do you guys suggest resubmitting to Google Webmaster tools after a change like this?

Best to use the built-in plugin search feature - select the one with the best star rating

Try reducing it to 10 then!

Any online SEO free site checker, or any custom SEO script you install on your own web hosting

Are you crazy?

When will you guys realize Google is not your friend!

Don't give Google anything they can use to beat your site to death with - no Google analytics - no Google anything!

Literally the first thing your page loads after the body tag is an AdSense banner.

Many people speculate that the recent Google update in October negatively affects sites which display advertisements "above the fold".

I would recommend moving that advertisement and placing something else in that area. You could go to Fiverr and get a nice full length header logo, which could make your site look more trustworthy.

iOSVlog, first of all, very nice work! However your website needs a lot of further tweaking regarding speed. pingdom tools count 138 requests for your main page and 1.7MB. Try to merge and compress the css and js-files. You also have a lot of images. Background ones could be merged into a sprite saving requests as well.

Sorry late response =] I've seen many sites do the whole sprite thing and I'm not sure on how to do that. Don't know too much about css and js-files. Any help?
