Hi guys I am going to try and do some seo work done on my main website, I don't really have much experience with SEO so I was just wondering how I should go about doing this

Should I create like 20 web 2.0s linking to me site to boost google position? And should I ping all the links? How exactly does one go about pinging each link?

Thanks, any help would be appreciated

See, if I were you, I would manually create 20 web 2.0's to start. In my personal experience, that works the best. i am sure you know what to do with those after they're indexed. Also, index them with Lindexed or Google Plus.

Hey,

I wouldn't advice you to make any decisions in hurry. The best idea, when it comes to learning SEO tricks, is to establish a solid foundation on which to build. If you are just starting out with SEO, I would highly recommend this guide -

Hope it helps. Thanks.

Don't do anything if your site is new. Concentrate on content and its quality. Forget web2.0 links, go for social network sites.

Creating 20 web 2.0's is a start but remember to diversify your links and don't just stick to web 2.0's. Using a drip feed ping such as Indexification or Lindexed would be better than pinging all at once.

Agreed start simple, create a twitter account, facebook page and other social media channels. Build content on your site and make sure its all original. Once your established start looking for keywords to start ranking, start with the least competitive and build your way up :) Goodluck

I think a lot of people worry more about their backlinks than thay do about their on-site SEO. Making your site comply to the SEO standards is the very first thing you should be doing. You may have already done this but since you are new to this I thought it was worth mentioning.

If you are not familiar, on-site SEO is stuff like naming every page as descriptive and informative as possible, same with any media such as images/video or audio. Correct use of header tags "<h1>" and the use of bolding or "<em>" on important keywords or ideas. Also you must always always always have a "Frequently Asked Questions" page and above all else a privacy policy even if you dont take any info from the people visiting your site.

Are Web 2.0s going to be your only SEO effort? The reason I ask that is because they take time to index and if you're counting on them to boost your rankings, it'll take time.
If you need help with a strategy, hit me up on PM and we can talk.
Cheers :)

Make good web2's, forget about pinging, do not make one good web2 and leave it. Treat all your web2's as though they are your money site. Build them up with good content and blast them with other web2's.

Build Some Web2.0's with Unique Content. Then build some blog comments and other High PR links on web2.0's. And build some blog comments directly on your money site.

This stragety is working great for me. :)
