Doing seo for Bing and Yahoo?

My question is for the people that are doing seo specifically for bing and yahoo: After how much time you are starting seeing traffic from these two search engined, when you are doing seo for new site, because bing and yahoo are usually slow in indexing new sites?

Concentrate on Google, it brings more money in.

yeah but imho working with google much harder, they just ban for no reason and even worst no explaining why they banned(( in this case bing and yahoo a bit flexible

That's the misguided view of a rookie

Although bing and yahoo funnel through fewer hits, that traffic tends to convert far easier.

Think about it, who uses bing? People who don't know how to change the default settings in IE to google? People who have used yahoo for years and just won't change? They tend to be much older and less educated too. All these demographics can point you in pretty lucrative directions when you get your thinking hat on!

Don't write bing/yahoo off. In some industries bing traffic is an absolute goldmine. I made a fair chunk of my profit last year from a PPC lead gen campaign on bing aimed at older people who have their own home with the mortgage paid off. Like i just said, older people tend to use bing because they don't understand how to change to google.

Like i said, bing / yahoo is a goldmine. You just need to understand who uses them and why, then match the projects to the demographic.

By the way, for gods sake don't tell anyone on main street about this! We don't want them pushing up the PPC costs!

With internet marketing it is best to not say one thing is good and another thing is bad but to use
it all in order to benefit yourself. Never just forget about Bing and Yahoo! They are around for a good reason.

Bing and Yahoo are mostly an afterthought for most (not all) SEO's. There's not much info on the forum in terms of the best SEO practices.

Concentrate on google ranking. You'll get more traffic from google only.

I'd love for Bing or some other to become the new big dog, where there's change, there is opportunity!

You have no idea wtf you're talking about. I'm not denying that there may be certain benefits to using bing and yahoo, but the above listed benefits you just pulled out of your ass and you know it.

Show me *1* study that suggests bing and yahoo users are "much older and less educated".
It is like saying "all the smart and young people use google". But young people by nature are stupid.

In fact, to make a statement that stupid, I would have to guess that you yourself are under 25.

Also, I know A LOT of people who use bing and yahoo, and most of the people I KNOW have bachelors or masters degrees and have very successful high paying jobs.

I know an IT genius in his 30's who uses bing. He can program in every language and is a manager for At&t. He is my brother.
I know a woman who taught for 38 years and is highly educated, she uses yahoo, she is my mother.
I know a business owner who owns 2 businesss and he pulls in mid 6 figures a year. He uses bing. He is neither old or stupid. He is my brothers friend.
I know a stock broker in his 40's who is the vice president of smith barney brokerage firm... he uses bing. He is my cousin.

I know a lot of people and I can go on for at least 30 minutes typing out people I know who use bing and yahoo.
None of them are "less educated" than your average person, and most of them are some very intelligent people.

If you ask me, it has nothing to do with intelligence.
If I refuse to switch my homepage to Google... because I don't give a shit, does that make me "stupid"? What if I'm a doctor
who doesn't have the time to care? I must be one stupid doctor huh?

Be very careful with the generalizations you make. Because frankly speaking, they make you sound stupid.

I find EMDs rank far easier on bing, also it takes quite a while to get indexed and ranking, also sites which I blast with GSA still seem to rank well on bing yet nowhere on google.

To rank on bing work with it like it was google 4 years ago

I like using Bing. Just cos I don't like all the clutter Google is putting in these days

I've been an affiliate marketer for 7 years and earn my full time income from it. I own my own house outright and enjoy a comfortable life.

I don't know everything but I do believe I have "an idea" what i'm talking about.
