Doing a One Million Scrapebox Blast Directly To A COMPETITORS Website

this is low, in my book called cheating ;)

Seriously guys. Don't do shit like this. It is counter productive. Spend the time optimizing your own site. It will be much more rewarding in the end.

You even got the guys over at the WF talking about this thread. Way to go.

Did you explain to them what a backlink is first? :p

Op did ran a test and proved that its possible to take out your competition we should thank him for that and not call him names and what not. Was it ethical? no but business do that all the time. If you knew that your revenue could jump by %50 by taking out your competition would you do it? Personally I would not do it but If I was really strapped for cash and competition was standing between me and food on the table who knows.
Op thank you for keeping us updated on the test. Did you use names or niche related keywords for the blast? How big was variety of the keywords?

F**k people like these who attack other people's site. Wait until somebody do this to you... :(

I have been taken out before by some competitors. One of them is a whitehat ecommerce site which rank among the top for the niche. This happens around end last year, I notice something amiss when I checked my webmaster tools and observed that the site has over a million links. The site has dropped off totally from the index. However, around 3 months later, the site reappears on page 1 again. By then the webmaster shows the links has dropped from over a million to around 100k.

It stays for around for a couple of weeks before disappearing again. Till now, it has not come back yet...

Kinda funny to see where people suddenly draw their ethical line. They have no problem costing other companies millions to route their spam mail, or ruin user experiences on craigslist, or trick people into basically selling their contact info to be plagued by phone calls for a $1 email submit, or creating autoblogs that both steal content and fill the internet with useless spun garbage - but as soon as their site is at risk, it's like "slow down...you can't fight here...this is the war room!"

I dont understand people saying it takes time to do this, whereas it actually takes a couple of minutes to fire up the site/keyword/bloglist/IPs in Scrapebox....

Anyway, we are on a BH forum, such thread cant shock here

Thumbs up for this.

I think people are highly against this in this forum is because they have micro niche sites themselves and are afraid that this might start a trend where admins blast each other's site.

People are afraid that their competitors will start using this tactic.

You know, I was all do it do it...

Now it's done... I kind of feel bad for egging the OP on.

I do know that my thoughts have been (like others) validated, that if you can kill your own site then you can kill another's, but poor guy, worked his ass off to get his site to #1 and it's gone.

It's just a bit disappointing really..

highly doubt thats going to happen your just going to probably help him out... i dont know all the hype about a site getting sandboxed because of sb blasts

i personally do this to a few of my sites and only see positive results,, new site,, old sites,, never in my life have i been sandboxed

i think that its just BS theory that ppl use to scare off the competition and if its going to get my competition to do that to me then lol

waste of time dude, just do it to your site..

I've been sandboxed with one site. It still appears for a few days, then disappears from SERPs for weeks/months.. Short appearance back on page 1, and then gone again for a week or two..

It's been doing it for about 5 months now.

Other than that one site, I haven't had any problems with this either. It's weird because I didn't even use scrapebox or anything on it.. The only thing I used on that site before it went all wonky was Unique Article Wizard, about 6 articles pointing to the money site with UAW, and the site got 'sandboxed' or started 'dancing'.

As for the 1 million scrapebox blasts to your competitor, this is an interesting experiment that I'm interested in following. I asked a few weeks ago here on BHW if there are any 'weapons' that can be used against competitors, this is the kind of thread I was hoping to be directed to. Instead I just got a bunch of flames, which is fine. I expected that, but at least I've finally found the thread I was looking for. :P

Yeah, I don't think webmasters should fight each other, as long as they can avoid it. Especially if it spills onto forums like this. With blackhat, though, it's inevitable.

well I hope someone from google is reading this. Their should be no penalty for too many links at the same time. Instead site should not move up just stay where its at.

Lets see the results. This is a case study. But if you able to it for your site it would be better. Share the results here. We can think about spamming backlinks to our site.

up to the man what he does but if your really treating this as a proper business you should be concentrating on building your business and not worrying about ruining the competition. if you put the effort in to your own site and not the competition you will succeed.
and how would you feel if you spent alot of time getting a site ranked for someone else to ruin it.
not judging just my opinion.

Most of these replies REALLY crack me up. What about that thread that was started today about someone saying how buge xrumor blasts directly to their sites had sandboxed them all?

What about all the people here that say blasting your site directly with scrapebox is bad news?

What about the fact that I have sandboxed TONS of sites by blasting them too much with forum profiles in the past?

And as far as the replies to the guy that sandboxed his sites with xrumor today, 95% of them were telling the person they are NUTS for doing that to their money site.

Yet every time someone makes thread about blasting their competitors sites like that, they are pretty much laughed at, and told that it wont work? etc. etc.?

And replies saying how they have never seen the sandbox, yet they use automated tools like SB etc.?? Why do I have a hard time believing that.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying ruining/sandboxing/de-indexing peoples websites is anything I am going to do, but I AM getting sick of all the people that are saying it is not possible.

It probably wont work on real authority sites, or very well established sites, and what not, but obviously it will work on most crappy/spammy websites (which is probably what 99% of the people here have, myself included).

If you can screw up your own sites (which I have done plenty of times, along with MANY other people here), then why on earth would people think you can't mess up someone ELSE'S site?

Afraid that people may start to believe its possible or something? Worried about it happening to YOUR sites or something? :)

Sorry, couldn't resist...

If someone tries to tell me it wouldnt possible to get competitors sandboxed by spamming them he's normally pretty new to SEO or his head is simply full of shit and he knows nothing. ;-)
