TA's pretty much debunked as a stock strategy. Cryptocurrencies are more like the forex market, except crypto markets are generally instant spot markets, whereas forex speculators generally work with derivatives. However, the forex market represents a big chunk of the world's wealth changing hands, with about $4 trillion changing hands daily, and about half of that is spot volume, in other words it's a big, deep, and consequently more or less stable momentum market. Bitcoin's "market cap" is only $8 billion, only about $30 million changes hands daily, and the market is fragmented and in many ways disturbingly shallow, which is why a 15% swing over a 6 hour period is just another week on the Bitcoin markets. The altcoins like DOGE and LTC basically float against Bitcoin, which is unstable, so a chartist looking at DOGE/BTC is basically doing TA in the dark. You're faced with working something like DOGE/BTC/USD, and when you do start trying to apply some old TA saws you find something similar you find in forex, that DOGE/BTC is actually a special sort of contramarket: when BTC is perceived as going "up," vis a vis what coiners like to call "fiat," the market will trade alts for BTC, when BTC is perceived as going "down," people trade BTC for alts. So even if you're the sort of person who can clock the interaction of those variables, there's not sufficient market depth to take anything other than a trivial position. Right now if you buy 50 btc of DOGE on cryptsy you push the market price up about 1%, so basically you need 50 btc worth of DOGE market depth at about .15% more than the weighted average you paid to even break even. The average settle on cryptsy is about .1 btc, so basically if you're awesome at TA, you could reasonably expect maybe a 1% return on a $100 investment. The way to make money with cryptocurrencies is not to dick around trading on these markets, but to expand the markets. The way to make money with them is to offer them as payment, accept them as payment, and use them as much as possible in lieu of services like Paypal. Demand for cryptos from outside the crytpocommunity will drive the value of cryptocurrencies more than day trading or hoarding.
Good stuff, good stuff. I have no clue about forex, but im looking/testing to start off day trading with cryptos and possibly making $50-100 a day. Looks simple if you follow the volume but noted and will be testing stuff out.

Anyhow if anyone here is good at daytrading and spotting trends in chart analysis we can share, pm me yur skype

I've already made my investment back with Doge.
I think, though, that I'll ride it out until it hits $0.01/Doge.
There's another crypto I want to invest my money in, for the long haul.

http://vaultofsatoshi.com They are legit and offer usd direct to Doge. Sent a couple wires to them and it was in my account same day.
I just want to buy 50k DogeCoin i already have 1.2k. Everywhere else is so overpriced. I can see people selling for double the price but 1k DogeCoin for $50? Come on. I'm going to try Vaultofsatoshi and hope it goes easy. All i have to do is wire USD and then buy the DogeCoin right?

Yes, that is correct.

I'd focus on DOGE, it's less than 3 months old. When everyone rushes to sell BTC to buy DOGE(it's already happening) it'll go TO THE MOON ;)

Help me please, is there a place i can buy doge with PayPal, with VISA, or something? I'm not from North America but i want to invest, how to buy cryptocurrency ?!? damn :D

The only way I can think of buying with paypal is ebay. All of the exchanges I know of require you to link your bank if you are going to buy with fiat(USD,CAD...) Unless you buy from an exchange you will pay a premium for the ease. It is a little bit of a pain to get verified with the exchanges that do DOGE/USD.

If you google purchase dogecoin with paypal you will get some results, but how many of them are actually real and trustworthy.

i tried one tutorial and am still in the process.
1) sign up with virwox and deposit with paypal/creditcard/usd etc...
2) purchase SLL of however much you want.
3) purchase BITC with your SLL
4) get your BITC address
5) signup with vircurex and transfer the BITC to vircurex account.
6) purchase Doge with your BITC within vircurex account.

i am currently at #5 waiting for virwox to complete the transfer to vircurex. (ETA 48 Hours)

i will keep you posted as to what fees and losses i get.

so far...
deposit $60 > receive $57.66 in virwox ($2.44 fee)
$57 > 13316.30 SLL
13168.90 SLL > .075 BTCOIN
.075 BITCOIN > ??????? DOGE

Starting to feel like a spokesman for them: http://vaultofsatoshi.com You can buy Doge direct through them using your bank account.

aren't there rates a little high?

i guess i wont know until i complete my long transfer and transaction. if this process comes out to be more expensive, i would rather by through satoshi, makes it easier.

Not at all. For instance, one of my buys was just shy of $1400 and the fee was only $2.74. You would pay a $15 incoming wire fee but that's it. Fee's are super low in my opinion.

There are some legit sellers in the dogecoin official forum.

I bought twice already from 2 different sellers and everything was fine. Just check out their threads before you purchase.

VaultOfSotashi seems to be legit from my research, also their site is very professional looking, however, it wasn't worth it for me to wire $50 from my bank account, when it was possible to use paypal

How long does it take to get to you? With coinbase, it takes 4 business days for your purchase of BTC to hit your account. How long after purchase at vaultofsatoshi, does it take to receive your coins?

Yeah, the 4 business day timeframe is exactly the reason why I didn't go through Coinbase. In fact, I went through the whole process with them of buying BTC and hit submit when a popup was displayed asking me to acknowledge that I want to proceed with the transaction and that it would take 4 business days to get into my account. I decided to cancel the order right then. Lucky I did too, since the price of BTC was $818 and by the time I would have received my coins it was at $700...I would have lost $1k just from that transaction.

Anyway, to answer your question, my first wire was sent at 10 a.m. and was deposited into my Satoshi account around 1 p.m. Considering it was an international wire I was really surprised it went through so fast. My second wire was at the same time but didn't hit my account until the following morning. Still, only one day is really good to get into your account.

If you sign up with Satoshi, get as much info submitted and verified right away. I believe it took 2 days from when I submitted my documents to getting the account fully verified. It probably depends on how their work-load is for that day. To be proactive I would email them too, stating you submitted the required documents.

Coinbase will allow $100 of instant purchase. For your first month and then will up it to 1000. This is a weekly limit. You also have to get verified. Vault of Satoshi if you want to trade with anything using USD you will need to be verified. It takes a little time but is required to be legitimate. I have bought with both and coinbase was instant but could only buy 100 and then had to wait. Satoshi is a little more then if you buy BTC from coinbase and then trade right away at crypsy but not to bad. I consider it the price of ease in dealing with fiat currency. Also It is a bit thin on trading so can move up and down faster.

Only thing I don't like is that I have to keep providing these companies with my banking information. I'd like to limit the amount of places like this, that I register with. On a lighter note, from Coinbase, I do have some BTC coming in, on the 18th of Feb. It's something to look forward to.

weird enough i actually invested because of this tread :D
