Does Youtube Trending Page Help?

I honestly think it's pretty difficult even if you copy a user's video idea.
As of right now "Shane Dawson is trending - so maybe you can create some kind of buzz news about him?
That's my idea. I'm no expert on YouTube.
My guess is if you create videos related to trending videos, you can definitely get views - but getting on the trending page is probably like a lottery.

You need to research more, study the trending videos, the content, and comments, see what users like.
- create similar o the same content with your own words and opinion
- tweak a bit the video and make more fun
- provide something the other are not providing in their video
- If you can attract the attention of your viewers, you will get tons of subs and soon in the trending videos section my friend.
