Not sure this is a great thread but just curious as to many variables.....

Does your spouse encourage and/or like what your doing for income?


Has any spouses ever quit there local job and joined together as a team?


Just curious....

Im sure this is a yes for a lot but I could be wrong, if you can sell to a community with extreme success you could most likely answer yes on one if not both.

If I ever marry and have kids I am sure they will like what I am doing right now. Considering the freedom and the fulfillment you get from our job. But everyone is different.
 
I tend to like ambitious people and will not tolerate someone around the house
who purposely cast out negative remarks about what I do in my business.
 
Yes. Spouses only discourage you if what you are doing is not getting money deposited into your account or checks in the mail. I receive both. The only time I hear bitching is when I am up until 3-4 in the morning coding or finishing a new back link tier for each of my websites and clients websites.
 
I'm not married yet, but I'll marry with one who'd be interested in what I does online :)
 
I've only been at this for a few months, but my girlfriend is on board. She's interested enough to help out from time to time. And smart enough to tell me when I'm being a dumbass. I couldn't see her doing it full time though.
 
My g/f seems to be of the opinion, the more time I spend on my PC the less time I have to bug her.

If I try talking to her about websites or IM she sits there listening and then tells me:

"I didn't hear a word you just said"

So I don't bother now!:D
 
She likes it just fine, especially those notices from paypal when people pay you.
 
If you talk a a lot about making money but don't actually do it, your spouse will give you shit for it. Who wouldn't?

Keep it to yourself while you're getting started and let the money do the talking. I guarantee you will be taken seriously.
 
She loves it! We homeschool our daughter so we are able to do whatever, whenever. Screw punching a clock and making someone else money!
 
My long term girlfriend and soon to be wife loves what I do online now, but when I first started doing it I don't think she took it seriously so when I first started making money I made sure people sent me physical checks in the mail so she could see that I was actually making money for my efforts online. Some people actually have to see the proof before they will believe its real, I even had to prove it to myself, if you know what I mean.

This reminds me of a story. When I was in middle school, I remember telling a teacher that you could make money online and the teacher laughed at me saying, "the Internet can only be used for learning and reading the news, you can't make money online. How would that even work, anyway"? The teacher along with the whole class laughed at me for having such a "stupid idea". Two years later I made half a thousand dollars online in only 2 weeks. She was right about one thing, though. The Internet can be used for learning... Learning how to make money online!

Who ever earns enough money? What is your number? The amount of cash that you would earn and walk away.

OP: She was skeptic at first. Then I told her that we need to add an extra couple of thousand into our monthly budget. She has a bachelors in communication so I constantly ask her to come and work for me doing some PR, but alas she has yet to say yes (she really likes her current job).
