Does ranking first page on yahoo or bing really matter? Or is google the only important one to focus on. I feel like nothing is worthwhile in those search engines.

If you rank for anything worthwhile in Google, you will get way more traffic than ranking in Yahoo or Bing.

But if you are talking about phrases with really large search volumes and good buyer intent, ranking in Bing can be a very good thing.
 
Just focus on google cuz you will rank for yahoo and bing also without giving them some attention.
About 5% of my traffic comes from yahoo and bing.
 
depending where you live and like to rank.
in my country google is 97%
 
Go For Google ... but don't Ignore Bing and Yahoo ..... They still have around 15% share in total search results.

And mostly voice search results came from Bing ..... So Don't Ignore Bing Totally
 
Focus on Google :) Bing & Yahoo will get autorank.

Yahoo is now hardly used buy I can't ignore Bing :) Because, my site gets good amount of views from Bin as well.

You just concentrate on Google.
Compared to other search engines Google has updated the algorithms frequently.
These updates will be more effective and reasonable.
So, just concentrate on Google compared to other search engines.

Yes it does. From my experience I know that Bing could bring ~20-30% of total revenue despite much smaller volume.
 
I had several domains (!) ranked 1-4 on bing... for supposed 2000 exact / month. does not gave 100 visitors a months.
their data is total bullshit. and in my country, not worth "optimizing" for. in fact, I even killed the projects.

however (!) 2009 EMD still work perfect on bing.

but why waste the time for 2% of traffic??

else, bing ads are great an 1/10 cheaper than google..

i usually test them there, roll them out on adwords later.

st. even bing allows ads, while adwords is stuck up on some rulez..
