Guys:

I have read in different posts that using wordpress hurts you to rank well in G?

Is this true? and why?

Where did you read, wordpress is SEO friendly and Google LOVE WP

Really, Google loves wordpress! This has been proven by many! And i did experience the same many times!

Don't you love it the way people make up !@#$ and then spread the manure about as though it was gospel.

QUite the contrary. Google happens to LOVE wordpress. Do you know how many websites are out there that use wordpress? Google pretty much HAS TO like wordpress!

I think it's exactly the opposite, using Wordpress actually can help your rankings...the platform is loved by Google and easy to do on-site SEO on

Not true. All my sites are on WP, some rank page 1 on highly competitive keywords.

Yeah it does out of the box with most themes. And if you don't think that, you don't know shit about on-page optimization. Whoever says Google loves WP should look at a WP theme's structure and markup and WP's architecture and then go learn on-page optimization again.

It can be optimized but out of the box it is SHIT!

Yeah. And rumor has it that it increases the blood pressure and the possibility of a heart attack for your visitors.

Wordpress is probably the best thing, since sliced bread, if you want to get your site into google indexed and most importantly "ranked" for you respective keywords.

I completely disagree, all my sites ate wordpress, and most of them ate on the first page of specific key words. Wordpress rules!

Quoted for truth. Google loves WP. Period.

Actually I think the OP was trying to discuss relative rankings for different platforms. If that's what you're asking about, then Google actually tends to rank Joomla sites more easily than Wordpress sites. I have tested this and its been confirmed by several respected members.

However Wordpress will usually do the job also. And its a little easier to use.

I use Wordpress and do very well in the rankings however, I agree with Madoctopus. You still have to do your on-page SEO or you won't rank. Wordpress just makes it easier to do your SEO.
