Does watching your own video hurt the performance?

Say you give yourself a measly ~50 views from different devices, accounts, in incognito mode, using a vpn etc. Is this enough to warrant invalid traffic?

it depends on your set up. if you are using a cheap/public vpn it will be detected. if you are using the same phone it will be detected ect if you do it right it should be fine.

Yes, if you want to use your channel for earning source then it might be harmful for your channel

is it necessarily a thing that they even punish you for? i'm afraid i might've hurt my chances by doing this on my first video without even really thinking about it. the channel is not monetized so i wasn't watching my ads and i don't have a notification anywhere about invalid trafic or anything, but it hasn't been touched by the algo either. just a bit nervous that it can bite me in the ass in the future. i won't be doing it on my upcoming videos.
