Does using an un-original image on your website (Ex, header) effect SEO?

If google can see that I took a header image from google images is it going to affect my ranking for SEO (not image SEO, but page SEO)?

Dont worry about that Google never writes on Google Image that its illegal to use my images.Your ranking will be good.

Hmm, I'm still skeptical. Is it possible that using original images HELP SEO, even if using unoriginal ones don't hurt it?

Hmm, I have affiliate site using non-original images from Amazon and it seems to rank fine.

I doubt that. Just compress the size a lil bit from the original ones and you're good to go.
