Does unlisted method still work?

I thought it no longer worked however some say it still does?
So does the method where unlist a video, pump it with views and engangements and then making it public still work?

You can always try it, but I do not recommand, the video will shows in first page for some hours and will drop to unranked.

The evidence I see says its still working but is very unstable method sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.I think come down to the quality of traffic you use.
