Does twitter see the a different port as a different proxy?

I have some private proxies that I can use with a few different ports. For ex. port 80, 8080. Iv'e been using about 5 accounts per proxy because it seems to work. But i heard some dude say that a proxy with a different port is sometimes not seen as the same proxy. Is this right? If it is then i can expand quite a bit...
